Prophecy against Ammon
1 The Lord spoke to me. 2 “Mortal man,” he said, “denounce the country of Ammon. 3 Tell them to listen to what I, the Sovereign Lord, am saying: You were delighted to see my Temple profaned, to see the land of Israel devastated, to see the people of Judah go into exile. 4 Because you were glad, I will let the tribes from the eastern desert conquer you. They will set up their camps in your country and settle there. They will eat the fruit and drink the milk that should have been yours. 5 I will turn the city of Rabbah into a place to keep camels, and the whole country of Ammon will become a place to keep sheep, so that you will know I am the Lord.
6 “This is what the Sovereign Lord is saying: You clapped your hands and jumped for joy. You despised the land of Israel. 7 Because you did, I will hand you over to other nations who will rob you and plunder you. I will destroy you so completely that you will not be a nation any more or have a country of your own. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”
Prophecy against Moab
8 The Sovereign Lord said, “Because Moab has said that Judah is like all the other nations, 9 I will let the cities that defend the border of Moab be attacked, including even the finest cities—Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim. 10 I will let the tribes of the eastern desert conquer Moab, together with Ammon, so that Moab will no longer be a nation. 11 I will punish Moab, and they will know that I am the Lord.”
Prophecy against Edom
12 The Sovereign Lord said, “The people of Edom took cruel revenge on Judah, and that revenge has brought lasting guilt on Edom. 13 Now I announce that I will punish Edom and kill every person and animal there. I will make it a wasteland, from the city of Teman to the city of Dedan, and the people will be killed in battle. 14 My people Israel will take revenge on Edom for me, and they will make Edom feel my furious anger. Edom will know what it means to be the object of my revenge.” The Sovereign Lord has spoken.
Prophecy against Philistia
15 The Sovereign Lord said, “The Philistines have taken cruel revenge on their agelong enemies and destroyed them in their hate. 16 And so I am announcing that I will attack the Philistines and wipe them out. I will destroy everyone left living there on the Philistine Plain. 17 I will punish them severely and take full revenge on them. They will feel my anger. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

2 Fils de l’homme, tourne ta face vers les enfants d’Ammon,
Et prophétise contre eux!
3 Tu diras aux enfants d’Ammon:
Écoutez la parole du Seigneur, de l’Éternel!
Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
Parce que tu as dit: Ah! Ah!
Sur mon sanctuaire qui était profané,
Sur la terre d’Israël qui était dévastée,
Et sur la maison de Juda qui allait en captivité,
4 Voici, je te donne en possession aux fils de l’Orient;
Ils établiront au milieu de toi leurs enclos,
Et ils y placeront leurs demeures;
Ils mangeront tes fruits,
Ils boiront ton lait.
5 Je ferai de Rabba un parc pour les chameaux,
Et du pays des enfants d’Ammon un bercail pour les brebis.
Et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel.
6 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
Parce que tu as battu des mains
Et frappé du pied,
Parce que tu t’es réjoui dédaigneusement et du fond de l’âme
Au sujet de la terre d’Israël,
7 Voici, j’étends ma main sur toi,
Et je te livre en proie aux nations;
Je t’extermine du milieu des peuples,
Je te retranche du nombre des pays,
Je te détruis.
Et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel.
V. 8-11: cf. Jé 48. So 2:8-11.8 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
Parce que Moab et Séir ont dit:
Voici, la maison de Juda est comme toutes les nations!
9 A cause de cela, voici, j’ouvre le territoire de Moab
Du côté des villes, de ses villes frontières,
L’ornement du pays, Beth-Jeschimoth, Baal-Meon et Kirjathaïm,
10 Je l’ouvre aux fils de l’orient
Qui marchent contre les enfants d’Ammon,
Et je le leur donne en possession,
Afin que les enfants d’Ammon ne soient plus comptés parmi les nations.
11 J’exercerai mes jugements contre Moab.
Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.
V. 12-14: cf. Jé 49:7-22. Éz 35. Ab 1. És 34.12 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
Parce qu’Édom s’est livré à la vengeance
Envers la maison de Juda,
Parce qu’il s’est rendu coupable
Et s’est vengé d’elle,
13 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
J’étends ma main sur Édom,
J’en extermine les hommes et les bêtes,
J’en fais un désert, de Théman à Dedan;
Ils tomberont par l’épée.
14 J’exercerai ma vengeance sur Édom
Par la main de mon peuple d’Israël;
Il traitera Édom selon ma colère et ma fureur;
Et ils reconnaîtront ma vengeance,
Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
V. 15-17: cf. Jé 4:7. So 2:4-7. Za 9:5-7.15 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
Parce que les Philistins se sont livrés à la vengeance,
Parce qu’ils se sont vengés dédaigneusement et du fond de l’âme,
Voulant tout détruire, dans leur haine éternelle,
16 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel:
Voici, j’étends ma main sur les Philistins,
J’extermine les Kéréthiens,
Et je détruis ce qui reste sur la côte de la mer.
17 J’exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances,
En les châtiant avec fureur.
Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel,
Quand j’exercerai sur eux ma vengeance.
