King Uzziah of Judah
(2 Chronicles 26.1-23)1 In the twenty-seventh year of the reign of King Jeroboam II of Israel, Uzziah son of Amaziah became king of Judah 2 at the age of sixteen, and he ruled in Jerusalem for fifty-two years. His mother was Jecoliah from Jerusalem. 3 Following the example of his father, he did what was pleasing to the Lord. 4 But the pagan places of worship were not destroyed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. 5 The Lord struck Uzziah with a dreaded skin disease that stayed with him the rest of his life. He lived in a separate house, relieved of all duties, while his son Jotham governed the country.
6 Everything else that Uzziah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah. 7 Uzziah died and was buried in the royal burial ground in David's City, and his son Jotham succeeded him as king.
King Zechariah of Israel
8 In the thirty-eighth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam II became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for six months. 9 He, like his predecessors, sinned against the Lord. He followed the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin. 10 Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against King Zechariah, assassinated him at Ibleam, and succeeded him as king.
11 Everything else that Zechariah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel.
12 So the promise was fulfilled which the Lord had made to King Jehu: “Your descendants down to the fourth generation will be kings of Israel.”
King Shallum of Israel
13 In the thirty-ninth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Shallum son of Jabesh became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for one month.
14 Menahem son of Gadi went from Tirzah to Samaria, assassinated Shallum, and succeeded him as king. 15 Everything else that Shallum did, including an account of his conspiracy, is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel. 16 As Menahem was on his way from Tirzah, he completely destroyed the city of Tappuah, its inhabitants, and the surrounding territory, because the city did not surrender to him. He even ripped open the bellies of all the pregnant women.
King Menahem of Israel
17 In the thirty-ninth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for ten years. 18 He sinned against the Lord, for until the day of his death he followed the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin. 19 Tiglath Pileser, the emperor of Assyria, invaded Israel, and Menahem gave him thirty-eight tons of silver to gain his support in strengthening Menahem's power over the country. 20 Menahem got the money from the rich men of Israel by forcing each one to contribute fifty pieces of silver. So Tiglath Pileser went back to his own country.
21 Everything else that Menahem did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel. 22 He died and was buried, and his son Pekahiah succeeded him as king.
King Pekahiah of Israel
23 In the fiftieth year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for two years. 24 He sinned against the Lord, following the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin. 25 An officer of Pekahiah's forces, Pekah son of Remaliah, plotted with fifty men from Gilead, assassinated Pekahiah in the palace's inner fortress in Samaria, and succeeded him as king.
26 Everything else that Pekahiah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel.
King Pekah of Israel
27 In the fifty-second year of the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king of Israel, and he ruled in Samaria for twenty years. 28 He sinned against the Lord, following the wicked example of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, who led Israel into sin.
29 It was while Pekah was king that Tiglath Pileser, the emperor of Assyria, captured the cities of Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, and Hazor, and the territories of Gilead, Galilee, and Naphtali, and took the people to Assyria as prisoners.
30 In the twentieth year of the reign of Jotham son of Uzziah as king of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah plotted against King Pekah, assassinated him, and succeeded him as king. 31 Everything else that Pekah did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Israel.
King Jotham of Judah
(2 Chronicles 27.1-9)32 In the second year of the reign of Pekah son of Remaliah as king of Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king of Judah 33 at the age of twenty-five, and he ruled in Jerusalem for sixteen years. His mother was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok. 34 Following the example of his father Uzziah, Jotham did what was pleasing to the Lord. 35 But the pagan places of worship were not destroyed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. It was Jotham who built the North Gate of the Temple.
36 Everything else that Jotham did is recorded in The History of the Kings of Judah. 37 It was while he was king that the Lord first sent King Rezin of Syria and King Pekah of Israel to attack Judah. 38 Jotham died and was buried in the royal tombs in David's City, and his son Ahaz succeeded him as king.
Azaria (Ozias), roi de Juda

Zacharie, Schallum, Menahem, Pekachia, Pékach, rois d’Israël
V. 8-12: cf. 2 R 10:30. Am 7:9-11.8 La trente-huitième année d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna six mois. 9 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, comme avaient fait ses pères; il ne se détourna point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël. 10 Schallum, fils de Jabesch, conspira contre lui, le frappa devant le peuple, et le fit mourir; et il régna à sa place. 11 Le reste des actions de Zacharie, cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël. 12 Ainsi s’accomplit ce que l’Éternel avait déclaré à Jéhu, en disant: Tes fils jusqu’à la quatrième génération seront assis sur le trône d’Israël.

Il régna pendant un mois à Samarie. 14 Menahem, fils de Gadi, monta de Thirtsa et vint à Samarie, frappa dans Samarie Schallum, fils de Jabesch, et le fit mourir; et il régna à sa place. 15 Le reste des actions de Schallum, et la conspiration qu’il forma, cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël. 16 Alors Menahem frappa Thiphsach et tous ceux qui y étaient, avec son territoire depuis Thirtsa; il la frappa parce qu’elle n’avait pas ouvert ses portes, et il fendit le ventre de toutes les femmes enceintes. 17 La trente-neuvième année d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Menahem, fils de Gadi, régna sur Israël. Il régna dix ans à Samarie. 18 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel; il ne se détourna point, tant qu’il vécut, des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël. 19 Pul, roi d’Assyrie, vint dans le pays; et Menahem donna à Pul mille talents d’argent, pour qu’il l’aidât à affermir la royauté entre ses mains. 20 Menahem leva cet argent sur tous ceux d’Israël qui avaient de la richesse, afin de le donner au roi d’Assyrie; il les taxa chacun à cinquante sicles d’argent. Le roi d’Assyrie s’en retourna, et ne s’arrêta pas alors dans le pays. 21 Le reste des actions de Menahem, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël? 22 Menahem se coucha avec ses pères. Et Pekachia, son fils, régna à sa place. 23 La cinquantième année d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Pekachia, fils de Menahem, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna deux ans. 24 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel; il ne se détourna point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël. 25 Pékach, fils de Remalia, son officier, conspira contre lui; il le frappa à Samarie, dans le palais de la maison du roi, de même qu’Argob et Arié; il avait avec lui cinquante hommes d’entre les fils des Galaadites. Il fit ainsi mourir Pekachia, et il régna à sa place. 26 Le reste des actions de Pekachia, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël. 27 La cinquante-deuxième année d’Azaria, roi de Juda, Pékach, fils de Remalia, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna vingt ans. 28 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel; il ne se détourna point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël. 29 Du temps de Pékach, roi d’Israël, Tiglath-Piléser, roi d’Assyrie, vint et prit Ijjon, Abel-Beth-Maaca, Janoach, Kédesch, Hatsor, Galaad et la Galilée, tout le pays de Nephthali, et il emmena captifs les habitants en Assyrie. 30 Osée, fils d’Éla, forma une conspiration contre Pékach, fils de Remalia, le frappa et le fit mourir; et il régna à sa place, la vingtième année de Jotham, fils d’Ozias. 31 Le reste des actions de Pékach, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela est écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois d’Israël.
Jotham, roi de Juda

Mi 1:1.32 La seconde année de Pékach, fils de Remalia, roi d’Israël, Jotham, fils d’Ozias, roi de Juda, régna. 33 Il avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu’il devint roi, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Jeruscha, fille de Tsadok. 34 Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel; il agit entièrement comme avait agi Ozias, son père. 35 Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple offrait encore des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux. Jotham bâtit la porte supérieure de la maison de l’Éternel. 36 Le reste des actions de Jotham, et tout ce qu’il a fait, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda? 37 Dans ce temps-là, l’Éternel commença à envoyer contre Juda Retsin, roi de Syrie, et Pékach, fils de Remalia. 38 Jotham se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père. Et Achaz, son fils, régna à sa place.
