Balaam's First Message
1 Balaam said to Balak, “Build seven altars here, then bring seven bulls and seven rams.”
2 After Balak had done this, they sacrificed a bull and a ram on each altar. 3 Then Balaam said, “Wait here beside your offerings, and I'll go somewhere to be alone. Maybe the Lord will appear to me. If he does, I will tell you everything he says.” And he left.
4 When God appeared to him, Balaam said, “I have built seven altars and have sacrificed a bull and a ram on each one.”
5 The Lord gave Balaam a message, then sent him back to tell Balak. 6 When Balaam returned, he found Balak and his officials standing beside the offerings.
7 Balaam said:
“King Balak of Moab brought me
from the hills of Syria
to curse Israel
and announce its doom.
8 But I can't go against God!
He did not curse
or condemn Israel.
* 9 “From the mountain peaks,
I look down and see Israel,
the obedient people of God.
10 They are living alone in peace.
And though they are many,
they don't bother
the other nations.
“I hope to obey God
for as long as I live
and to die in such peace.”
11 Balak said, “What are you doing? I asked you to come and place a curse on my enemies. But you have blessed them instead!”
12 Balaam answered, “I can say only what the Lord tells me.”
Balaam's Second Message
13 Balak said to Balaam, “Let's go somewhere else. Maybe if you see a smaller part of the Israelites, you will be able to curse them for me.” 14 So he took Balaam to a field on top of Mount Pisgah where lookouts were stationed. Then he built seven altars there and sacrificed a bull and a ram on each one.
15 “Wait here beside your offerings,” Balaam said. “The Lord will appear to me over there.”
16 The Lord appeared to Balaam and gave him another message, then he told him to go and tell Balak. 17 Balaam went back and saw him and his officials standing beside the offerings.
Balak asked, “What did the Lord say?”
18 Balaam answered:
“Pay close attention
to my words—
19 God is no mere human!
He doesn't tell lies
or change his mind.
God always keeps his promises.
20 “My command from God
was to bless these people,
and there's nothing I can do
to change what he has done.
21 Israel's king is the Lord God.
He lives there with them
and intends them no harm.
22 With the strength of a wild ox,
God led Israel out of Egypt.
23 No magic charms can work
against them—
just look what God has done
for his people.
24 They are like angry lions
ready to attack;
and they won't rest
until their victim
is gobbled up.”
25 Balak shouted, “If you're not going to curse Israel, then at least don't bless them.”
26 “I've already told you,” Balaam answered. “I will say only what the Lord tells me.”
Balaam's Third Message
27 Balak said to Balaam, “Come on, let's try another place. Maybe God will let you curse Israel from there.” 28 So he took Balaam to Mount Peor overlooking the desert north of the Dead Sea.
29 Balaam said, “Build seven altars here, then bring me seven bulls and seven rams.”
30 After Balak had done what Balaam asked, he sacrificed a bull and a ram on each altar.

3 Balaamu ko Balaki ye ko, “Tu jaŋ, i la jani sadaalu* daala, nte ŋa taa kara la. A si ke noo Yaawe* ye naa n kaŋ. Niŋ a ye feŋ-wo-feŋ yitandi n na, m be a fo la i ye le.” Bituŋ a seleta konkoriŋo santo, yiri te daameŋ.
4 Alla fintita Balaamu kaŋ. Bituŋ Balaamu ko a ye ko, “Ŋa sadaabodulaa woorowula le parendi. Sadaabodulaa-wo-sadaabodulaa kaŋ, ŋa ninsituuraa le bo jee, aniŋ saakotoŋo.”
5 Yaawe ye kumakaŋo duŋ Balaamu daa, a ñanta meŋ fo la. A naata a kii Balaki kaŋ ka a la kiilaariyaa kumoo futandi a ma.

“Mowabi mansa Balaki,
wo le ye m bondi naŋ ka bo Aramu,
ka bo tilibo konkoolu to.
A ko n ye ko,
‘Naa i ye Yaakuba koomalankoolu danka n ye.
Naa i ye Banisirayila tiñaa.’
8 Bari nte si moolu danka noo ñaadii,
Alla maŋ mennu ke dankatoolu ti?
Nte si moolu tiñaa noo ñaadii,
Yaawe maŋ lañini mennu la tiñaa la?
9 Ŋa ì je ka bo bere konkoo turoo le to,
ŋa ì hayinaŋ ka bo konkoriŋolu to.
Ŋa moolu le je mennu be ì faŋ ye,
ì maŋ ì faŋ bula banku koteŋolu moolu kono.
10 Jumaa le si Yaakuba koomalankoolu yaatee noo,
mennu be siyaariŋ ko bankumunkoo,
waraŋ ka hani Banisirayila talaadaa naaninjaŋo yaatee noo?
Allamaa n na saatoo ke la ko moo tilindiŋolu,
n labaŋo ye ke ko ì taa.”
11 Balaki ko Balaamu ye ko, “I ye muŋ kuu le ke n na teŋ? Ŋa i samba naŋ ka naa n jawoolu danka, bari i maŋ naa feŋ ke, fo ka neemoo daani ì ye.”
12 Balaamu ye a jaabi ko, “Fo Yaawe ye kumakaŋo meŋ duŋ n daa, m maŋ ñaŋ na wo le fo la baŋ?”
Balaki la kiilaariyaa kuma fulanjaŋo
13 Bituŋ Balaki ko Balaamu ye ko, “Naa ŋà taa dulaa doo to, daameŋ i si Banisirayilankoolu je noo. Niŋ i be jaŋ, i ka ì la daakaa jenjeŋo doroŋ ne je. I si ì danka n ye wo dulaa to.” 14 Wo le to a ye a samba Sofimu la kunkoo to Pisika Konkoo santo, a ye sadaabodulaa woorowula loo jee to, aduŋ a ye ninsituuraa niŋ saakotoŋo le faa ñinnu bee kaŋ.
15 Balaamu ko Balaki ye ko, “Tu jaŋ, i la jani sadaalu daala, nte ŋa taa jana fo Yaawe be finti la n kaŋ.”
16 Yaawe fintita Balaamu kaŋ, aduŋ a ye a fo a ye le, a ñanta ka meŋ fo. Bituŋ a naata a murundi Balaki kaŋ ka a la kumakaŋo sindi a ma.
17 Bituŋ a muruta teŋ ne, a ye Balaki tara looriŋ a la jani sadaalu daala, a niŋ Mowabi maralilaalu. Balaki naata a ñininkaa Yaawe ye meŋ fo.
18 Bituŋ Balaamu ye a la kiilaariyaa kumoolu bankee ko:
“Wuli Balaki, i ye moyiroo ke,
i lamoyi n na, ite Sipori dinkewo.
19 Alla maŋ ke hadamadiŋo ti,
sako a si faniyaa fo.
A maŋ ke hadamadiŋ ti,
a buka a la miiroolu faliŋ.
Fo Alla si kuma fo baŋ, a maŋ a ke?
Fo a si laahidoo dii baŋ, a maŋ a timmandi?
20 Nte ŋa yaamaroo meŋ soto, wo le mu,
ka neemoo daani.
Alla ye neemoo dii le fokabaŋ,
aduŋ nte te wo faliŋ noo la.
21 “Mantaabembaliyaa te soto la Yaakuba la karoo la,
balafaa kuu nene te laa la Banisirayila kaŋ.
Yaawe ì la Alla, be ì fee le.
Ate le mu ì la Mansa Baa ti,
aduŋ ì ye a tentu wo la le.
22 Alla meŋ ye ì bondi naŋ Misira,
a ye keloo ke ì ye le ko ninsi saŋaroo.
23 Batuutaayaa te ke noo la Yaakuba kamma,
bitaari te ke noo la Banisirayila la kuwo to.
A be fo la ì la kuwo to le ko,
‘Ali a juubee Alla ye meŋ ke.’
24 Banisirayilankoolu wulita le ko jatamusoo,
ì wulita le ko jatoo,
meŋ buka i dahaa fo a ye a la deema suboo domo,
a ye a la faari suboo yeloo miŋ.”
25 Bituŋ Balaki ko Balaamu ye ko, “Niŋ i maŋ ì danka fanaa, wo to kana neemoo daani ì ye.”
26 Bari Balaamu ko Balaki ye le ko, “Fo m maŋ ñiŋ ne fo i ye baŋ ko, Yaawe ye feŋ-wo-feŋ fo, nte ñanta ka wo le ke?”
Balaamu la kiilaariyaa kuma sabanjaŋo
27 Bituŋ Balaki ko Balaamu ye ko, “Naa m be i samba la dulaa doo le to, wo si Alla kontaani noo le, i si a je, i si ì danka noo jee.” 28 Wo to le Balaki ye Balaamu samba Pewori Konkoo santo, daameŋ niŋ i be jee, i ka Yesimoni hayinaŋ.
29 Balaamu ko Balaki ye ko, “Sadaabodulaa woorowula loo n ye jaŋ. I si ninsituuraa woorowula niŋ saakotoŋ woorowula parendi n ye.” 30 Bituŋ Balaki naata wo le ke, ko Balaamu ye a fo a ye ñaameŋ. A ye ninsituuraa niŋ saakotoŋo le faa ì bee kiliŋ-kiliŋ naa kaŋ.
