Christ Helps Us
1 My children, I am writing this so you won't sin. But if you do sin, Jesus Christ always does the right thing, and he will speak to the Father for us. 2 Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins and the sins of all the world's people.
3 When we obey God, we are sure we know him. 4 But if we claim to know him and don't obey him, we are lying and the truth isn't in our hearts. 5 We truly love God only when we obey him as we should, and then we know we belong to him. 6 If we say we are his, we must follow the example of Christ.
The New Commandment
7 My dear friends, I am not writing to give you a new commandment. It is the same one you were first given, and it is the message you heard. 8 But it really is a new commandment, and you know its true meaning, just as Christ does. You can see the darkness fading away and the true light already shining.
9 If we claim to be in the light and hate someone, we are still in the dark. 10 But if we love others, we are in the light, and we don't cause problems for them. 11 If we hate others, we are living and walking in the dark. We don't know where we are going, because we can't see in the dark.
12 Children, I am writing you,
because your sins
have been forgiven
in the name of Christ.
13 Parents, I am writing you,
because you have known
the one who was there
from the beginning.
Young people, I am writing you,
because you have defeated
the evil one.
14 Children, I am writing you,
because you have known
the Father.
Parents, I am writing you,
because you have known
the one who was there
from the beginning.
Young people, I am writing you,
because you are strong.
God's message is firm
in your hearts,
and you have defeated
the evil one.
15 Don't love the world or anything that belongs to the world. If you love the world, you cannot love the Father. 16 Our foolish pride comes from this world, and so do our selfish desires and our desire to have everything we see. None of this comes from the Father. 17 The world and the desires it causes are disappearing. But if we obey God, we will live forever.
The Enemy of Christ
18 Children, this is the last hour. You heard that the enemy of Christ would appear at this time, and many of Christ's enemies have already appeared. So we know the last hour is here. 19 These people came from our own group, yet they were not really part of us. If they had been part of us, they would have stayed with us. But they left, which proves they did not belong to our group.
20 Christ, the Holy One, has blessed you, and now all of you understand. 21 I did not need to write you about the truth, since you already know it. You also know that liars do not belong to the truth. 22 And a liar is anyone who says Jesus isn't truly Christ. Anyone who says this is an enemy of Christ and rejects both the Father and the Son. 23 If we reject the Son, we reject the Father. But if we say we accept the Son, we have the Father. 24 Keep thinking about the message you first heard, and you will always be one in your heart with the Son and with the Father. 25 The Son has promised us eternal life.
26 I am writing to warn you about those people who are misleading you. 27 But Christ has blessed you with the Holy Spirit. Now the Spirit stays in you, and you don't need any teachers. The Spirit is truthful and teaches you everything. So stay one in your heart with Christ, just as the Spirit has taught you to do.
Children of God
28 Children, stay one in your hearts with Christ. Then when he returns, we will have confidence and won't have to hide in shame. 29 You know Christ always does right and everyone who does right is a child of God.
المسيح شفيعنا
1 يا أبنائي، أكتُبُ إلَيكُم بِهذِهِ الأُمورِ لِئَلاّ تَخطَأوا. وإنْ خَطِـئَ أحدٌ مِنّا، فلَنا يَسوعُ المَسيحُ البارّ شَفيعٌ عِندَ الآبِ. 2 فهوَ كفّارَةٌ لِخَطايانا، لا لِخَطايانا وحدَها، بَلْ لِخَطايا العالَمِ كُلّه.
3 إذا عَمِلنا بِوَصاياهُ كُنّا على يَقينٍ أنّنا نَعرِفُه. 4 ومَنْ قالَ: «إنّني أعرِفُهُ» وما عَمِلَ بِوَصاياهُ، كانَ كاذِبًا لا حَقّ فيهِ. 5 وأمّا مَنْ عَمِلَ بِكلامِهِ اَكتَمَلَتْ فيهِ مَحبّةُ اللهِ حقّا. بِهذا نكونُ على يَقينٍ أنّنا في اللهِ. 6 ومَنْ قالَ إنّهُ ثابِتٌ في اللهِ، فعلَيهِ أنْ يَسيرَ مِثلَ سِيرةِ المَسيحِ.
الوصية الجديدة
7 لا أكتُبُ إلَيكُم، يا أحبّائي، بِوَصِيّةٍ جديدةٍ، بَلْ بِوَصِيّةٍ قَديمَةٍ كانَت لكُم مِنَ البَدءِ. وهذِهِ الوَصِيّةُ القَديمَةُ هِـيَ الكلامُ الذي سَمِعتُموهُ. 8 ومعَ ذلِكَ أكتُبُ إلَيكُم بِوَصِيّةٍ جديدَةٍ يتَجَلّى صِدقُها في المَسيحِ، فالظّلامُ مَضى والنّورُ الحَقّ يُضيءُ.
9 مَنْ قالَ إنّهُ في النّورِ وهوَ يكرَهُ أخاهُ،
كانَ حتى الآنَ في الظّلامِ.
10 ومَنْ أحَبّ أخاهُ ثَبَتَ في النّورِ،
فَلا يَعثِرُ في النّورِ.
11 ولكِنْ مَنْ يكرَهُ أخاهُ فهوَ في الظّلامِ،
وفي الظّلامِ يَسلُكُ ولا يَعرِفُ طَريقَهُ،
لأنّ الظّلامَ أعمَى عَينَيه.
12 أكتُبُ إلَيكُم يا أبنائي الصّغارُ، لأنّ اللهَ غفَرَ خَطاياكُم بِفَضلِ اَسمِ المَسيحِ. 13 أكتُبُ إلَيكُم أيّها الآباءُ، لأنّكُم تَعرِفونَ الذي كانَ مِنَ البَدءِ. أكتُبُ إلَيكم أيّها الشّبّانُ، لأنّكُم غَلَبتُمُ الشّرّيرَ. 14 أكتُبُ إلَيكُم يا أبنائي الصّغارُ، لأنّكُم تَعرفونَ الآبَ. كَتَبتُ إلَيكُم أيّها الآباءُ، لأنّكُم تَعرِفونَ الذي كانَ مِنَ البَدءِ. كتَبتُ إلَيكُم أيّها الشّبّانُ لأنّكُم أقوياءُ، ولأنّ كلِمَةَ اللهِ ثابِتةٌ فيكُم، ولأنّكم غَلَبتُمُ الشّرّيرَ.
15 لا تحِبّوا العالَمَ وما في العالَمِ.
مَن أحبَ العالَمَ لا تكونُ مَحبّةُ الآبِ فيهِ.
16 لأنّ كُلّ ما في العالَمِ، مِنْ شَهوَةِ
الجَسَدِ وشَهوَةِ العَينِ ومَجدِ الحياةِ
لا يكونُ مِنَ الآبِ، بَلْ مِنَ العالَمِ.
17 العالَمُ يَزولُ ومعَهُ شَهَواتُهُ،
أمّا مَنْ يَعمَلُ بِمَشيئَةِ اللهِ، فيَثبُتُ إلى الأبَدِ.
المسحاءُ الدجّالون
18 يا أبنائي الصّغارُ، جاءَتِ السّاعَةُ الأخيرَةُ. سَمِعتُم أنّ مَسيحًا دَجّالاً سيَجيءُ، وهُنا الآنَ كثيرٌ مِنَ المُسَحاءِ الدجّالينَ. ومِنْ هذا نَعرِفُ أنّ السّاعَةَ الأخيرَةَ جاءَت. 19 خرَجوا مِنْ بـيننا وما كانوا مِنّا، فلَو كانوا مِنّا لبَقُوا مَعَنا. ولكِنّهُم خَرَجوا ليَتّضِحَ أنّهُم ما كانوا كُلّهُم مِنّا.
20 أمّا أنتُم، فنِلتُم مَسحَةً مِنَ القُدّوسِ، والمَعرِفَةُ لدى جميعِكُم. 21 وأنا أكتُبُ إلَيكُم لا لأنّكُم تَجهَلونَ الحَقّ، بَلْ لأنّكُم تَعرِفونَهُ وتَعرِفونَ أنّ ما مِنْ كِذبَةٍ تَصدُرُ عَنِ الحَقّ.
22 فمَنْ هوَ الكذّابُ إلاّ الذي يُنكِرُ أنّ يَسوعَ هوَ المَسيحُ. هذا هوَ المَسيحُ الدّجّالُ الذي يُنكِرُ الآبَ والاَبنَ معًا. 23 مَنْ أنكَرَ الاَبنَ لا يكونُ لَه الآبُ، ومَنِ اَعترَفَ بالاَبنِ يكونُ لَه الآبُ.
24 أمّا أنتُم فلْيَثبُت فيكُمُ الكَلامُ الذي سَمِعتُموهُ مِنَ البَدءِ. فإنْ ثَبَتَ فيكُم ما سَمِعتُموهُ مِنَ البَدءِ، ثَبَتّم في الاَبنِ والآبِ. 25 وهذا ما وُعِدنا بِه، أي الحَياةِ الأبدِيّةِ.
26 أكتُبُ إلَيكُم بِهذا وقَصدي أولَئِكَ الذينَ يُحاوِلونَ تَضليلَكُم. 27 أمّا أنتُم، فالمَسحَةُ التي نِلتُموها مِنهُ ثابِتَةٌ فيكُم، فلا حاجَةَ بِكُم إلى مَنْ يُعلّمُكُم، لأنّ مَسحَتَهُ تُعَلّمُكُم كُلّ شيءٍ، وهِـيَ حَقّ لا باطِلٌ. فاَثــبُتوا في المَسيحِ، كما عَلّمَتْكُم.
28 نعم يا أبنائي، اَثبُتوا فيهِ حتى إذا ظهَرَ المَسيحُ كُنّا واثِقينَ ولَنْ نَخزَى في بُعدِنا عَنهُ عِندَ مَجيئِه. 29 وإذا كُنتُم تَعرِفونَ أنّ المَسيحَ بارّ، فاَعرفوا أنّ كُلّ مَنْ يَعمَلُ الحَقّ كانَ مَولودًا مِنَ اللهِ.
