“Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. Please accept a gift from your servant.”
Once Naaman was healed, his immediate response was gratitude. His physical healing led him to recognize the God of Israel as the true God. Healing, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, can awaken us to God’s presence and goodness. Gratitude shifts our focus from the healing itself to the Healer, drawing us closer to God. Naaman wanted to give a gift in return, but Elisha refused, emphasizing that healing is an act of grace. God’s blessings are not earned but freely given.
Reflection Questions:
- How has God’s healing touched your life, and how have you expressed gratitude for it?
- How can you cultivate a spirit of gratitude even while waiting for healing?
